Jay-Z – The Blueprint 3

I’m not a big Jay-Z fan but I listened and wrote what I thought as I listened. This is not a album review with clever references, quotes or connections. I’m a fan of good albums. Albums where every single song blends into the next. Albums where there are no “duds”. So when it comes to albums, there are no overall ratings, it’s either yes or no.

Once again Jay-Z has strung together a bunch of songs mixtape style.

[UPDATE 09.01.09] I had to go back and listen again because the version I heard had many more tracks than the official tracklisting from Jay-Z.com:

1. What We Talkin’ About – 5/5 Strong.
2. Thank You – 5/5 Favorite on the album.
3. Death Of Auto-Tune – 5/5 What can I say? I’m a big No I.D. fan.
4. Run This Town – 5/5 I got GOT.
5. Empire State Of Mind – 2/5 Alicia sounds great but wtf is up with that beat? Let me remix that.
6. Real As It Gets – 1/5 SMH
7. To The Next One – 0/5 wtf?!?
8. Off That – 5/5 Who knew I’d feel a track with Drake on it? Who knew?!?!
9. A Star Is Born – 1/5 What?
10. Venus Vs. Mars – 1/5 Damn.
11. Already Home – 1/5 Holy crap.
12. Hate – 0/5 This could’ve been really good but instead ended up really bad.
13. Reminder – 2/5 Songs never grow on me but if they did, this might.
14. So Ambitious – 1/5 Damn Pharell…what happened?!
15. Young Forever – 1/5 Just think happy thoughts.

“Sorry boys….”

A Polaroid Documentary

You know me, I’d rather use my old Polaroid then my current point-and-shoot.

The name of this film is called TIME ZERO: The Last Year of Polaroid Film. It’s a documentary exploring the people who still use Polaroid film and the people who want to bring back it’s production.

EA Sports FIFA 2010 Previews USA vs Mexico

Many things have happened in history on August 12th:

August 12, 1883 – The Last Quagga Dies (memories of HS research papers)
August 12, 1898 – Armistice ends in the Spanish-American War
August 12, 1982 – Mexico announces it is unable to pay its enormous external debt, marking the beginning of a debt crisis that spreads to all of Latin America and the Third World.
August 12, 2004 – New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey comes out publicly as a gay man.

And now…on August 12, 2009, the United States soccer team will face off against Mexico at the famous Estadio Azteca in a qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup. I will not go into the long back story of this rivalry but EA Sports has created a video for their new game previewing this match up:

Paper Heart [2009]

You knew I would see this. Don’t worry about Cera. He’s the same hoody-wearing character here but it doesn’t take away from the movie. Great script, concept, acting, music and cinematography.

:-) <– sums up the movie.

Forget The Film, Watch The Titles

I have yet to watch any “United States of Tara” but it looks good.

I’m the worst when it comes to animations and titles. I love simple things but these are great. Even the Terminator stuff.

FREE Audible.com – Thomas Friedman’s “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” on your BlackBerry

Visit audible.com/bb on your BlackBerry browser to download the app. Once there you can download Thomas Friedman’s “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” for free.

I have 16 gigs on my BB with barely a tenth of that filled up. Might as well download this! I must also mention I work for Audible just in case someone tries to cry foul.

TIME Interview with Louis CK [HD]

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Louis CK many times live in both New York City and Boston and I actually saw him do the “Nothing’s Amazing” bit twice before the Conan appearance. This TIME interview is asking him about the Conan clip which has since been removed from youTube. I also had the pleasure of reading Louis CK’s blog about his trip to Iraq. It is an “amazing” read. If you like that story about the Baghdad show from this interview, you should read his blog.

The best part of this interview is the ending. Louis doesn’t cease to amaze me and I will continue to see him live no matter if he has new material or not.

Thank you.

FIFA 10

I have played ever single FIFA Soccer game from FIFA International Soccer until now. FIFA 2010 or FIFA 10 will be released just in time for the World Cup. Ever since Be A Pro mode was put in the Fifa series my addiction has become unhealthy. I am looking forward to FIFA 10. Who knew they actually read the forums? Our cries about goals from the kick-off have been answered.

A bunch of new features have been announced but lets see what they do about defensive controls. The lack of defensive controls has been the most frustrating thing about the more recent games.

Watch the video below as random people discuss the game:

IGN has the release date as October 20, 2009. Visit EA Sports for more info:

My Fifa Be a Pro Club Team is InwoodFC. Maybe by 2010 I will get the site up and running.

If you enjoyed Nike’s previous “Back To School” campaign, feast your eyes on these kicks. They resemble your old Scantron tests from High School.

Nikon Coolpix S1000PJ Camera with Projector

Check out the new point-and-shoot camera from Nikon. It features a projector on the front that lets you share pictures and video by projecting them on an object.

I’m sure the quality of the projector can’t be too good but for what it is, this is great for the avid point-and-shooter.

It also includes an easy to use focusing slider on top of the camera to focus the projection on whatever you like. I wonder how shallow that field is. Will it get out of focus by moving my hand back an 5 inches?

Nice going Nikon. Click here for the specs:

Thanks to Sah Ril for making me dust of this album.

Classic.

Also, this has nothing to do with Q-Tip.
