Out of Focus [Short Film]
Some friends and I got together to take part in the NYC Film Race. It’s a contest where filmmakers are given 24 hours to complete a film. All entries are screened in a theatre and if you meet the 24 hour deadline your film is entered into a contest where certain prizes are awarded. First place includes $3,500 cash along with some Sony video software.
Although, this is merely a way of paying to screen a film for your friends, it resulted in a finished film. That alone warrants further participation in future events. The theme this year was side effects. Also, everyone was to incorporate a push-up into the film to prove it was recorded in those 24 hours.
Our small crew and cast handled many different tasks and through some literal racing through Manhattan we submitted our film on time. We probably won’t place in the top 10 but please enjoy our short film when we place it online next week.
I took some photos in between shots: Behind The Scenes
Enjoy.
