I grew up in the late 80′s and 90′s watching a ton of boxing. There would be a party every fight in someone’s house where we’d watch on stolen cable. I grew up played all the boxing video games from Tyson’s Punch-Out all the way to Fight Night. The Fighter is based on the true story of Micky Ward and Dicky Eklund.
The movie was shot really well and for the most part the acting was great. The $150,000Aaton Penelope camera was used for the film but the Sony BVP-900 was used for the television feed fight scenes. However, Mark Walhberg isn’t someone I enjoy watching. The boxing scenes looked fake but not as bad as the Rocky’s. I think the story of Micky and Dicky is a fascinating one but this movie isn’t for various reasons. Watch this for Christian Bale.
The Sidibe/Kravitz connection occurs again but not with Lenny this time. I honestly want to see this. Zoe Kravitz stole the show in It’s Kind of a Funny Story and that’s tough to do when Galifianakis is on-board. Thanks Amil for this.

I’m a long time fan of both of these guys. I like the video. Not only because of the nudity but because I don’t think the daylight balanced bright Zeiss look is overused in music videos. No sarcasm there. If the video looks familiar it’s because no aspect of it is original. I’m not just talking about the completely stolen idea from here, I’m also talking about the music itself, the idea of rapping on a bed with a lady next to you, the licking the cheek, etc. Regardless, I like the song and video. Thank you.
Last night Naughty By Nature performed on the David Letterman Show. I had no interest in watching it but after seeing the touristy all-white Ed Sullivan Theater get into it, I soon found myself standing up. Paul Schaffer was freaking it too. Nice combo. Enjoy.
