Not quite game-changer but here’s an awesome new video camera from Sony. I love the specs. However, I’m not sold on the image this thing produces. You could call this a combination of a DSLR and a full EX3-esque camera. I do in fact like the design. However, the motion this thing produces is a little odd to me and is very similar to the Sony NEX VG10. I’m sure with the right mount and lens this thing could produce some killer images.

I’m a fan of Greg Giraldo. As much as I wanted to watch this Comedy Central tribute, I was scared. Scared they wouldn’t do it right. And being a Comedy Central piece, I was scared they’d make Greg out to be “The Comedy Central Roaster.” I was gratefully wrong. All my favorite comedians chimed in. They didn’t chime in because they are the popular comedians now but because they knew Greg best. This great circle of comedians couldn’t have done a better job painting an honest touching image of their good friend. Make sure you catch this.

I currently own the predecessor to this, the N600. It is an awesome router. However, the new N750 has upped the data transfer rate to 450Mbps. Are any other routers doing that yet? That’s the main difference between the N600 and the N750. The high transfer rate isn’t so much important for internet access but rather things like home networking and HD streaming. As hard as it is to believe many new routers these days don’t come with gigabit LAN connections on their routers. These Netgear routers didn’t cut that corner. I don’t receive lag or stuttering when streaming large blu-rays from my NAS or when transferring large files. I can quickly share files across the network via the USB jack or create separate “guest” wi-fi networks with unique SSIDs. If you’re in the market for a wireless router or want to upgrade your current one, this is it. I may even upgrade mine. SMH.

RED Epic HDRx [Video]
Wow. Remember RED‘s last HDR test in Vegas and how awesome that tiny glimpse was? Here’s another quick clip of how the Epic does HDR. Don’t get it twisted. I’m the biggest hater of RED’s line of cameras but no camera on the market is making this shot. For obvious reasons that shot cannot be made with a simple live aperture turn. And, there are a few things “wrong” in this footage but it’s a giant step forward and ironically backwards towards the glorious days of film.

| Pioneer has announced a bunch of new A/V receivers. I didn’t think they’d get AirPlay in there being that they have their own proprietary sharing protocol AirJam but I was wrong. Bravo. The above pictured is a heck of a steal. The only thing my current Pioneer receiver has over this is the wattage. With that said, 120-watts per channel is enough for most NYC holes.
