While it’s exciting to consider the possibilities stemming from this era of innovation — which directors and futurists for decades have envisioned — that allows us to watch a movie “anywhere, anytime,” the more preoccupied we become with the technologies of how movies can reach us, the less we seem to ask the most important question: How do we really want to experience a film?
He states that the filmmaker’s intention is the big screen but that’s not necessarily the case anymore.
Technology will need to make many more huge leaps before one can ever view films with the level of picture and sound quality many film lovers demand without having to slide a disc into a player…

Junior Henry stabbed Rio Andre in broad daylight at a carnival in front of police officer, Roger Webb. He then fled the scene. Valentine Simatchenko tried to trip him as he fled. Oli Scarff captured the whole thing in a few photographs.
As his victim Rio Andre lay bleeding on the road, it seemed Notting Hill Carnival’s “Murder Monday” might again have lived up to its name.

So the Samsung Galaxy Nexus dropped last week. I copped it. It didn’t have Google Wallet. Within a day phandroids figured out how to get it on there with a root and a bunch of other steps that I wasn’t ready to try. Within three days they got a working APK to run without a root. I copped it and tried it. Google gives you $10 free for activating your Wallet account. The 24/7 McDonalds was the only thing open by me so I went to get a Hot Chocolate. I got Wallet to work after failing twice. The cashier was the inquisitive sort and asked “What is that? Is that an app or something?” with a half-chuckle. Although swiping my physical card would be loads quicker (no pin entry on your phone) I can see what Wallet holds for the future.

One of the best Burning Man videos I’ve ever seen. Great usage of the Canon 7D.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Directed by DAVID FINCHER
Awesome. Saw this yesterday. I’m not going to go into the ridiculous comparisons between this and the original film because both shine in their own way but in the 2011 version, Rooney Mara killed it. I do wish it was her in the original film but I won’t go into it. Fincher gets the nod here. Editing and screenplay are a different story. I didn’t read the books either (and never will) but I’m positive they are better than the movie. Regardless, see this if you can.
Now, technically, Fincher went with the RED Epic again to shoot this. DP Jeff Cronenweth did a great job shooting it but the original was shot on the Arricam and inevitably looks better. Low light stuff looked horrible here as did with the The Social Network. Regardless, they both did some dope things style-wise so I’d see ‘em again. Rooney Mara…
