Louis CK’s Week [Lizard?]

February 25th, 2011

I went to see Louis CK do stand-up for the 16th time last night. Fiendish? Yeah. He was great…as usual. It’s been a good week for him. He had a great interview with Donald Rumsfeld on Opie and Anthony. He sat court-side with long-time friend Chris Rock at Carmelo’s first Knick game. Now, he’s playing a bunch of sold-out shows at Caroline’s through the end of the weekend.

The art of stand-up is very similar to the freestyle emcee. That is, mostly prepared material with some of it being played off of one’s surroundings…with a sprinkle of punchlines. Hannibal Buress was there too. He’s been doing almost the same hour for the past 3 years but it’s a damn good one. Listen to the Louis CK O & A interview below with Donald Rumsfeld:
