I’ve been skeptical of every Talib song since Reflection Eternal. Why? Because, Hi-Tek wasn’t given the due credit for it’s success. Kweli thought Reflection Eternal sounded good because of him. No. The majority of it’s musical success was due to Hi-Tek’s existence. Good producing is overlooked far too often.
I’m still skeptical of their new album, Revolutions Per Minute, but I’m checking for it. I love this single:
We all remember that Jay-Z “Moment of Clarity” fiasco with Kweli among others. It’s a good thing Hi-Tek threw the sample in there. Below is a preview of the video for this song. I like the feel of it. However, I can’t stand the wide shot of the drum and harp…or the fire effect coming off the drum.
