"Lean Back"

11.11.04
Yup, that's our President. He was elected by us voters. This prompted
Stamina to lay down a vicious cut aimed at Bush. Listen to it here:

"Really?!"

11.03.04
Seriously? Another four years with him? If terrorism is the main issue (which is obviously is or else this wouldn't have happened) why did they vote for him? Doesn't it say something that the states most probable for terrist attacks, 9/11 New York, California, Hawaii and all coastal states, voted Kerry. I'm sorry Nebraska, no one is bombing you. Although now that Bush has been re-elected we are twice as likely to be attacked. If we wanted to send a message to Bin Laden we would have elected Kerry. Now our only message to him is "Americans are stupid".
What are we going to do now?

I did a Jay-Z remix featuring Bush and Kerry. Check it out:

Jay-Z - Threat (ft Bush & Kerry) Stream|MP3

Meanwhile ZEPS hit us with a hot new beat. Who Is He? (Instrumental). I'd like to think it was dedicated to Bush.

LyRicks also hit us with a hot new joint he recorded on his answering machine called "Can You Hear Me Now?". Check it out here:

LyRicks - Can You Hear Me Now? Stream|MP3

Also check out the MP3 section for some hot tracks.

Yup, more pictures coming soon.

"

10.02.04
So I opened up my mail a few days ago and there I am in the clean-up spot. For info on that release check out:
www.Kaschmir.se

It's been a while since I've updated but things have been pretty busy around here. I am currently working with a new singer named Sumeet and just did a song with a new rapper Sneakaz. Look out for those soon.

Emcee/producer ZEPS will also join the beats section next week with some raw heat. Stamina is putting the finishing touches on two songs for his album. Boxxer the Black Lion has also layed some vocals down for his upcoming release while Epiphany Blue has been doing talent shows and open mics. Look out next week for some more updates.

"Back in the lab"

06.30.04
Stamina is back in the lab working on his debut, "The Blue Pill" which is due out late this summer. Boxxer the Black Lion was in the studio as well.

If you haven't checked his installment of "Boxxer's Block", listen to it here.

"Epiphany Blue at the
New York Music Festival"

05.03.04
Epiphany Blue set it off up at the Village Theatre here in NYC last Friday. Pictures and video of the event coming soon.

Stamina hit us with a hot new joint called "The Dark Side". Check it in the MP3 section.

Yes, my contradictory-self peeped the Kanye "Two Words" video and I felt it to bleepin' death. My man Kanye easily topped his last two (hard to do). I mean, the correlation with the words and then the transition blaaaah....i'ma let y'all peep it for yourselves. It's crazy. I put it up in the video section. Download Here.

Boxxer blessed us with a hot new installment of "Boxxer's Block". Listen to it here.

The new Roots single "Don't Say Nuthin'" got heads screaming the chorus like they know what Thought is sayin'.

Apparently, one of the Punk'd pranks on MTV went all wrong when Ashton Kutcher decided to falsely arrest the rap group Black Eyed Peas. BEP apparently started fighting with the cops. Was waiting for them to cross the line...

I got new beats up in the beat section. More to come...

"Stark the Dutchmaster"

04.29.04
Got to start putting pictures of our
artists (or soon to be) up on here. I have new pictures going up this week as well as new beats. If you haven't already noticed Boxxer has blessed us with a new installment of "Boxxer's Block". Listen to it here. I also decided to begin a "Shows" section due to the growing amount of shows going down. Our very own Epiphany Blue is performing at one of the largest indie music festivals here in the city. Epiphany Blue will be performing cuts from the upcoming album "Bottled Water" on April 29th at the New York Music Festival. It is located at the Village East Theatre on 181 Second Ave. at 12th St. Come check it out around 6 pm.

I must say something that almost sparked another "Logrithmic Speaks". Within all music, trends develop leaving record labels scrambling for a formula to catch the trend while it is still hot. Once the formula is put into effect and copied the trend then becomes a repetitive annoying style of music. Played out. Which then of course is put to an end by another trend starting the cycle all over. The question is..."Where in the cycle are you?"

And yes Kanye sparked that thought.

I must acknowledge the Roots single "Don't Say Nuthin'".

In regards to the problems with accessing the site, I have been having problems with the server. I have quite a few more updates to make. Beats.

"What you think what? Mase be young Mase be dumb?"
04.03.04
Yes, M-A-dollar sign-E is back. Ma$e has decided to make a rap-comeback. I am sure many of you are as confused as a Republican. I know the first thing in my mind was "I thought he was preaching and co-writing books". Yes, he's still preaching but now he wants to join Nelly's label as an artist. That makes sense. Then I thought "maybe he's going to be somewhat creative and put some sort of Gospel-Rap into the mtv generation brain". But, he's not. He's coming back as the average harlem wapper. I really am not going to look out for that. But, I did catch mad people (males) on the radio literally screaming at his plan to return. What you think what? Mase be old Mase be sold?

Stamina has finished about 90% of "The Jersey Devil". Look out for that early Summer. Also, Epiphany is scheduled to shoot his video for the song "Feel Us Flow".

I know I have a picture of the preaching Murda Ma$e up there but the real buzz around the industry has been Prince. Apparently Prince is on a major tour right now for his new album "Musicology". The gimic is that anyone who goes to the concert will get a free copy of the new album. Now Prince has not been in the spotlight for some time and his name is probably meaningless to MTV viewers, so you may ask "Why is his giving his album free to the people who will actually buy it?" I mean, he sold out every venue in advance. The amount of free CD's he is giving out is way more then 500,000. That's more then gold. "Why is he doing this?!" I know y'all are thinking he must have jacked the price of the ticket up to compensate. The price of the tickets range from $50 to $75. He did. The only difference is that all $10.00 dollars of that supposed CD price go into his pocket instead of the normal .10 cents. And we all know artists forget the label and make most money off tours anyway. I don't feel right giving him credit for this idea but it may only be half of his scheme. Apparently, Prince, noticing the amount of music piracy that happens these days decided to put his own twist on it. If you don't know, both Napster and iTunes offer albums legally via pay-per-download. Not only can you legally download albums but single songs as well. So Prince decided, "Why should people go to iTunes for my album when they should be able to just get it via pay-per-download from my site?" You might say, "How is that genius? That's pretty obvious." But it's not obvious. It's as genius as the "free" CD's. When people download his album from iTunes not only is the label taking a percentage but iTunes also. So it's actually worse the people buying the CD from Sam Goody. By offering the CD on his site via pay-per-download, Prince is pocketing all $10.00 of that CD as opposed to the .10 cents of it. Once again he is leaving the label out of it. I mean, why should he care if his album does poor SoundScan numbers if he's making so much more money. And who knows, by doing this his album might sell more in stores. I'd actually like to see this catch on. If Eminem personally offered his new album via pay-per-download he would make so much more money while leaving his label with no percentage of those online sales. Any artist of any status level should be able to pull this off with just a little promotion. This may change the game. Label = Enemy. (And I know y'all noticed all the lay-offs at the major labels too. Artists are getting laid off. HOLLA!) Comments

Kanye is still "Flava of the Month". And don't you hate those people that claim their no-name artist is the hottest ever to grace the earth. Check this hilarious article about those people titled "Hate The Hype". Also check out what makes a good artist and what the game needs.

-Logrithmic....I try to update once a week y'all! The radio is coming soon!

"Madvilliany"

03.23.04
Yes, another Madlib MF DOOM update. Their album "Madvilliany" has dropped and it's hotter then her. If you haven't already peeped the video for their song "All Caps" its here in the video section.

Stamina is ripping up the finals over at EmceeForums.com. Check out Stamina as he battles four other cats.

Um, 50 Cent has decided to start his album all over again because it didn't meet his personal standards. Guess he won't be able to reach the July deadline. It looks like this one is going to get pushed back until Christmas. He acts like if its wack it won't go multi-platinum. He acts like that isn't all he cares about.

Beyonce's little sister Solange (age 17) has tied the knot with her beau. No not R. Kelly but her boyfriend Daniel Smith a college football player. Solange said in a statement, "I am excited about this new phase in my life. I am very happy and feel truly blessed to have the unconditional love and support of my parents and my entire family."

Common and Pharoahe Monch got signed to Rocafella Records under Kanye's label. I'm actually happy for them. Who knew?

"If lyrics sold then truth be told/I'd probably be/just as rich and famous as Jay-Z/truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense/next best thing I do a record with Common Sense." --Talib Kweli on a song with Common

During an Outkast concert, Big Boi's genitals were mistakenly displayed to the audience. He explains, "Once I was on stage and my zipper was open -- I think my schlong was hanging out for at least three songs." I guess he was hanging out with the right crowd. Shrug.

Tony Touch's "The Piece Maker 2" has been creating crazy buzz. I can't front, it got some banging songs on there. Wu-tang came hard on this. Just as hard as on Soul Survivor 2.

What did 50 Cent say to his mother after receiving a sweater for Christmas?....."Gee, you knit?"

"Best of the Jay-Z Remixes"

03.10.04
OKAY. We remember 9th Wonder doing that mediocre remix of God's Son last year. Then he sparked this year's remix trend with the "Black is Back" remix of Jay-Z's Black Album. That was followed by a few other remixes of the Black Album. So the other day I turn on MTV and they got the "Grey Album" kid up on there. Now there's more remixes of an album we should have already forgot about. So as curious as I am, I went on a hunt to listen to as many of them as I could to see what the hype was about and make my own judgement. I couldn't believe there was even a 640MB Jay-Z Construction Set filled with everything you need in order to make your own remix album.

Now, let me get into slight detail with each album. Every one of the remix albums that was just a blend album was just stupid and wack (why do it?). I must admit, The Grey Album, by Danger Mouse, was an ingenious idea but it seriously lacked in production and quality. It had way too much eq. The Brown Album just sounded like any other release from Kev Brown except this time Jigga was rhyming on his beats. It really didn't work. Maybe for some other emcee it would've worked. After hearing 9th Wonder's remix album I see why he got only one beat on the album. His second remix of Threat (third in total) was the best on his remix album but please someone give him drum samples. "Stop using the same kick and snare on every beat you ever make." Kno's "White Album" had some excellent moments but fell short on most songs. Kno did do one hell of a "Change Clothes" remix. The only remix of that song worth listening to...correct key and all. Now, each remix album had their own way of getting around the obstacle of "key". Some tried to mask the singing tracks using certain lazy methods. Some just didn't attempt or were ignorant to the concept. Danger Mouse dropped the melody and let the drums play when singing came on thus adapting to the obstacle. There were no successful remixes of any songs that had prominent singing (except Kno's). The two remix albums I didn't hear but wanted to were the Illmind remix album and the Cheap Cologne remix album. Apparently Cheap Cologne used beats made entirely from Metallica's "Black Album". Kardinal Offishall also did a his own dancehall/reggae remix of the Black Album. I don't know what he was thinking. So overall I would have to say some remix albums had their moments but they all lacked in too many places. Kno's was actually the most creative and probably your best bet. On "Lucifer" he did something worth checking that I won't spoil. At one point I was going to make my own remix album but the hunt for the acapellas turned up with low quality rips and I don't want to bug anyone to rip the LP for me. I did make a "Best of the Remix Albums" but like most i've seriously heard enough Jay-Z for any hip-hop fan. Thank you.

--Logrithmic "I feel like i'm filling in for Brotha Afron...hahaha"

If you haven't caught the Kanye video "Falls Down" he dropped another video for "This Way" featuring Dilated Peoples. Kanye also performed alongside Common on the Dave Chapelle show. The song is hot like Halle Berry in a catwoman suit. If you didn't already know, Kanye is also doing Com's entire new album.

Puffy is once again making money off of Biggie by releasing an album on BIG's death anniversay. Puffy claims it's to celebrate Bad Boys 10th anniversary. So why drop on March 9th? That's almost as immoral as dropping a movie about Jesus on Ash Wednesday. What's up with these promotion schemes?

"Ms. Dynamite"

03.02.04
Rapper Ms. Dynamite has opened up a hip-hop school in her name called "Diddymite". Although the title contains the name "Diddy" there is no relation to the annoying Bad Boy. The school is situated in South London and its goal is to give talented teens the oppourtunity to get behind the mic. I don't know if this is good for the music but I can name many names that would benefit from classes.

With Rawkus officially dying, 2004 is becoming the year where labels are just closing down. For the past three years CD sales have drastically gone down but DVD sales have tripled. Labels are beginning to take more interest in DVD's. Music DVD's alone account for 11 percent of all DVD sales. With that said, Arista records is shuting down and Time Warner Music has layed off twenty percent of their staff. This is leaving artists scrambling to find a safe home. This may afterall be a great year for hip-hop.

But then again Drag-on has just dropped two videos which means an album is coming. 9th Wonder has been chosen to produce the entire new Memphis Bleek album. Kanye West has started up his own record label (Why? That's third level label). 50's album is gonna drop his next album on Independence Day (Why?).

And anyone I see with a "Free Tony Yayo" shirt is getting smacked. How is Yayo gonna violate parole the day after he gets released for passport fraud?

For such a garbage song, Kanye really did his thing on that video for "Falls Down". Feeling the multiple cameos. Peep it here. And Jay-Z just shot a black and white video for "99 Problems" here in Brooklyn.

The reason why I haven't put up new beats in a while is because too many people on Soundclick are stealing them. I'm going to find another way of letting people hear them.

Now that John Kerry is in the lead with delegates lets concentrate on the greater evil. Bush. At least vote this time.

"Madvillain"

02.23.04
Stamina's album, The Jersey Devil, is inching closer to completion. Look out for it late Spring. Meanwhile, Epiphany Blue is in the beginning stages for his second video, "Feel Us Flow", featuring Stamina. Hopefully this will set off 2004 as the return of good hip-hop.

Speaking of good hip-hop, the Madvillian album featuring the collaboration of Madlib and MF DOOM is due to drop March 23, 2004. Check out their animated video for "All Caps" in the video section.

Jaylib's "McNasty Filth" (that crazy track that set off Logrithmic Radio's week one) was given an all-new mix down and now sounds better and bumps harder than the version that appears on the album "Champion Sound". The video for McNasty Filth has been completed, featuring Madlib, Dilla, Frank-N-Dank, J-Rocc, the entire 805 crew, and a whole lot of strippers.

Logrithmic is featured in an article by Sam Passow titled "Success" which gives various views of what hip-hop artists consider success. Read it here.

Busta Rhymes has inked a deal with Dr. Dre's Aftermath.

"Camping trip?"

02.16.04
Well, Kanye's album dropped and I had the pleasure of listening to it second hand. I find it funny that an album has six hot songs and people say that it's hot. I also had the pleasure of listening to Pete Rock's "Soul Survivor 2". Yeah, Posta Boy has a song on it but at least the beat matches the personality. It wasn't like listening to Kweli and Common rocking the most commercial sounding beat on the album. Check out some notes on what makes a classic album. I don't know if Pete's is a classic album but Kanye really needs to step his game up. Pete Rock is still running it.

What's the deal with Puffy looking to purchase an NBA team? Has this become a hip-hop fad?

Week 3 of Logrithmic Radio and Boxxer's Block are not up yet due to a combination of virus problems and laziness.

Yesterday marks the fifth anniversary of Big L's death. I remember.

Wesley Clark dropped out so obviously you can't "Vote Clark!" anymore. But Dennis Kucinich is surely the next best person to go up against Bush.

"Jean Grae"

02.09.04
Thanks for all the support and positive feedback towards Logrithmic.com. I'm still mad at Soundclick for upgrading their system leaving all my beat and song links directing users to Soundclick. I'm working on it.

Due to my ongoing boycott I did not see the Grammy's last night. I heard Outkast won album of the year which just prolonged my boycott ten more years. Where was Jean Grae?

She was here in Week 2 of Logrithmic Radio and Boxxer's Block. Listen here...

The deadline has passed for registering to vote in the New York State primary. If you are a registered voter please come out in March. Vote Clark!

"Moment of Clarity"

02.03.04
Logrithmic.com has arrived and Brotha Afron has set it off with an installment of Brotha Afron Speaks on the subject of religion.

I also put up the first installment of Logrithmic Radio and Boxxer's Block. It features new Jaylib, Kanye West, Dead Prez and many others. I met one of my idols the other day, 88 Keys. Check him out in the video section.

For the past couple of weeks I've been watching Rawkus Records clean out their office. The word is that they are officially closing as of January 31st. See y'all at Interscope.

Check out the video of Common and Kanye West with Dave Chapelle. And did y'all see the The Niggars?

Vote Clark in March!

Featured Artist: Stamina
Stamina started experimenting in the art of rhyme at the age of 14, when he first entered high school. Cyphering on neighborhood corners and freestyling with friends on the school bus on the way to his high school in South Jersey developed Stamina into a viscious battle rapper with lyrics that reflected his intellect and seemingly natural ability with wordplay. In the Summer of 1999, Stamina, fifteen at the time, linked up with his eighteen year old cousin from across the country who went by the alias Normiin Beights, and began recording songs on a double deck Sony Boom-Box...
